Every college football player hopes he can make it to the National Football League. It’s a lifelong dream. But few have what it takes to play on Sundays.

The former college players invited to the College Gridiron Showcase are tantalizingly close. But they’re no sure things. The CGS invites those who have the potential to make it, but aren’t assured of being drafted or signed. Over several days of workouts, interviews, and evaluations, the stories of whether or not they fulfill their dreams will be written.

The CGS television program content will tell compelling narratives that unfold during the showcase. Which underdogs, in the CGS parlance, “made themselves money.” Which ones “lost money?” By program’s end, we’ll know who we might want to keep an eye on in the NFL this season . . . and who should think about another career.

The stories don’t stop with the players, either. The pressure is on the NFL and Canadian Football League scouts in attendance, whose evaluations are crucial to their teams winning games and them keeping their own jobs. And the CGS itself is a big part of the story. They’re underdogs, too, taking on venerable draft showcases like the Senior Bowl and the East-West Shrine Game with a disruptive approach to player evaluation and a setup designed to maximize every player’s chances of success.
